Dramatic natural scenery for events, film, and photo shoots

Hidden in the heart of Glen is the enchanting Loch Eddy replete with boathouse and fairy tale island. It was named after Edward Tennant, the family's beloved eldest son and poet who was killed at the age of twenty in the First World War. Set within the steep slopes of Glen Banks, Loch Eddy is one of the many outstanding settings to be found on the estate.

In addition to wide sweeps of open moorland Glen is also blessed to have wonderful forests with open glades and grassed tracks and even some remnants of the ancient Caledonian Forest. The mature woodlands of beech, oak and pine offer the very best filming opportunities.

"I take the magical images of the estates secret places and the memory of Glen bird calls with me wherever I go." Tessa Tennant.
Closer to home, the gardens at Glen represent one of Scotland's few examples of the early 20th Century's Arts and Crafts style. Perhaps because of the wilder nature of Scotland's scenery and topography, this particular design style - developed by Lutyens and Jekyll for an extensive Edwardian clientel of country house owners - has very few significant examples north of the Border. Consequently, Glen's gardens have considerable historic importance as well as providing yet another distinctive setting.
